MTE Winter Weather Bulletin - February 15, 2021

MTE office to close early due to inclement weather

Due to inclement weather and for the safety of Middle Tennessee Electric (MTE) members and employees, MTE just announced it will be closing its member-facing office locations today at 3:00 p.m.

The early closure will not impact continued 24/7 member service access via telephone and mtemc.com. Service restorations, in the event of outages, will continue around the clock, as the MTE operations and supporting team members work to ensure the reliability of the electrical grid.

Offices will re-open on a delayed scheduled Tuesday, February 16 at 9:30 a.m.

In other weather-related news, the cooperative also announced it will be suspending all disconnections for non-payment for the remainder of this week.

Any MTE members using the pre-pay billing option who are having difficulty making their payment are encouraged to call MTE member services to seek assistance and discuss their individual situation at 877-777-9020.

“As the weather continues to deteriorate, we made the decision to alter our normal office hours and move to a schedule that will better ensure the safety of our members and employees,” said MTE President and CEO Chris Jones. “Our member service team remains in place as always to address any member needs and our line crews are dispersed throughout the MTE service areas, ready to assist if needed.  We encourage members to contact us with any issues, and everyone to shelter in place until the storm passes.”

For assistance, please contact Middle Tennessee Electric at 877-777-9020 or via the company website at www.mtemc.com.
