Report light outage

Outdoor yard lights are available for member residences and businesses. Streetlights are typically requested and paid for by a local government, homeowners association, or similar organization. Knowing which type you need will help you find the right request process.

Local laws, ordinances, or HOA rules may limit where a light can be placed. An outdoor yard light must also meet MTE placement standards. MTE’s Engineering team can review the property and determine an appropriate location.

An outdoor yard lighting request may require additional poles, wiring, a larger transformer, or other equipment. These needs can affect the installation cost. MTE’s Engineering team determines construction costs and communicates them before work begins.

HOAs and local governments can contact MTE Member Support to discuss new streetlight installations. Individual members who want a streetlight in their area should work with their HOA or local government. Members who want a light on their own property can ask about outdoor yard lighting instead.
