A hard month can catch anyone off guard. When it does, there are local organizations across our service area ready to help — community action agencies, nonprofits, and help centers that work with families every day.
MTE partners with these organizations and helps fund energy assistance accounts through the SharingChange Foundation. The agencies handle applications and decide who qualifies, so the first step is reaching out to a partner in your county.

Local agencies keep energy assistance accounts funded year-round through MTE’s SharingChange Foundation. They take the applications, review them, and provide assistance to eligible accounts.
The Weatherization Assistance Program is a federal program that helps make homes more energy efficient. Depending on the home, work can include air and duct sealing, insulation, storm windows, and caulking. Priority goes to households with young children, people with disabilities, and older adults.
