Get personalized help with your home’s energy use
A Home Energy Checkup is a free benefit for MTE members. During the 90-minute visit, an MTE EnergyPro reviews your home’s energy use, explains what they find, and answers your questions. After the visit, you will receive a personalized list of recommendations that may help you save energy, manage monthly costs, and make your home more comfortable. Homeowners and renters can request a checkup. If you are considering an upgrade, your EnergyPro can also help you identify improvements that may qualify for rebates or financing.
Both homeowners and renters can complete the online request form and tell us about your home and any energy concerns. An MTE EnergyPro will contact you to schedule the on-site visit. Members can also call their local MTE office to get started.
The visit takes about 90 minutes and may include a review of attic insulation, ductwork and airflow, air leaks and weatherization, your heating and cooling system, and household energy habits.
Your MTE EnergyPro will explain what they find. Recommendations will be sent by email and added to the document vault in your myMTE account. Results vary based on your home and the updates you choose.
Review the recommendations and decide which changes make sense. Some may be simple adjustments. Others may involve a qualified contractor. The checkup may identify work that could qualify for rebates or financing. MTE does not complete repairs or upgrades.
