How the nominating committee helps fill director vacancies
MTE's Nominating Committee helps present candidates to members to fill director vacancies during the election process. Members may also be nominated for election to the nominating committee by petition if they meet the eligibility requirements. Petitions must be submitted at least 60 days before the Annual Meeting, and members can pick up a petition at their local Middle Tennessee Electric office.

What does the nominating committee do?
The nominating committee presents candidates to members to fill director vacancies for election.
How can a member be nominated to the nomination committee?
Any member may be nominated for election to the nominating committee by submitting a petition not less than 60 days before the Annual Meeting.
Who is not eligible?
A member may not serve on the nominating committee if they are a current board director or if they have been employed by MTE, United Communications, or Murfreesboro Electric Department within the last 10 years.
Where can members get a petition?
Members can pick up a petition at their local MTE office.
How many members can be elected from each district?
The number elected to the nominating committee from each district cannot exceed the number of directors serving that district.
