Get the documents you need before installing solar
MTE requires an approved interconnection application and agreement before construction begins on any new or expanded residential solar installation. These documents allow MTE to review the proposed system, confirm it can safely connect to the electric grid, and identify whether any service upgrades are needed.
Members are responsible for any required upgrade costs. Completing these documents before construction helps ensure a safe, smooth process for members, contractors, and employees.
Residential solar installations
These documents are required for new or expanded residential solar installations. They must be filled out, signed, and approved before construction begins.
MTE reviews the application, agreement, specifications, and drawings to help ensure the system can safely connect to the electric grid.
Larger or commercial solar systems
If your system is larger than 50 kW or you are installing a commercial solar system, please contact MTE’s EnergyPros directly for additional steps and requirements.
