EV Car Club

A car club where ownership isn't required

MTE's EV Car Club is a free community for members who drive electric, those considering it, and those who are simply curious. There's no cost to join and no obligation to attend anything. What you get is a place to ask real questions and hear from neighbors who already drive electric.

Club members receive invitations to events across the counties MTE serves, the quarterly Plugged In newsletter, and access to MTE's EV team. Events have included ride-and-drive experiences, live music, food, and giveaways — with the signature Supercharged Cruise-In held each year.

Plugged In is the club's quarterly newsletter and one of the main benefits of joining. Each issue covers club events, industry updates, member spotlights, and practical tips for EV ownership. It arrives by email — you'll start receiving it after you sign up.

The Plugged In newsletter is separate from MTE's Plugged In Podcast, which covers general stories from across the cooperative.

The Facebook group is where members connect between newsletters and events. It's a good place to ask a quick question, share a photo of your setup, or catch an event announcement. Members answer each other, and MTE's EV team keeps an eye on the conversation.

The Supercharged Cruise-In is the club's flagship gathering each year. MTE rotates the location across the counties it serves — past events have been held in Murfreesboro, Franklin, and Lebanon.

In 2026, based on member survey feedback, the club added quarterly Saturday-morning events, with the goal of visiting each county at least once a year. Club members receive event invitations by email.

Beyond the club, MTE's DriveEV pages cover the practical side of driving electric — home charging, public charging locations, rate plan options, and the EV Ready incentive for 240-volt wiring.

Joining connects you to people and answers, not paperwork. Members tell us the most valuable part is talking with neighbors who already drive electric — people who can tell you what home charging actually costs them or how a road trip really went.

Here's what membership includes:

  • Invitations to club events across the counties MTE serves
  • The quarterly Plugged In newsletter
  • A members-only Facebook group for questions between events
  • Direct access to MTE's EV team for charging, rate, and incentive questions

There's no fee and no obligation to attend anything.

You won't get a sales pitch. MTE serves members who drive electric and members who don't — our role is to answer questions and help you make the choice that fits your life. The information we send out and the events we host are intended to keep you informed about current and upcoming changes in the world of electric vehicles.

Sign up using the EV Car Club form. You'll need your name and email address.

After you join:

  • You'll receive the Plugged In newsletter each quarter
  • You'll get an email invitation ahead of each club event
  • You can request to join the EV Car Club Facebook group

Membership is free, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
