Before you begin

Before setting up Auto Pay in myMTE, make sure you have:

  • Access to your myMTE account.
  • Your preferred payment method.
  • Account ownership to accept the Auto Pay terms and conditions.
  • Any current balance paid separately, if needed.
  • Auto Pay starts with new bills after you enroll. If you already have a balance due, you may still need to pay that amount separately.

  • Select No if you do not want to pay the balance at that time.
  • Select Yes if you would like to go to the payment summary screen and make a payment.

Auto Pay frequently asked questions

What day does Auto Pay go through?

Auto Pay will automatically charge your card or draw from your bank account on the due date of your bill. Additional fees may apply for a failed payment or insufficient funds. Auto payments cannot be stopped within 48 hours of the scheduled payment. Any payments made to the outstanding balance will not affect the auto draft.

If I sign up for Auto Pay, when will it start?

Auto Pay begins with new bills from the date you signed up and will automatically charge your card or bank account on the due date of your bill. Additional fees may apply for a failed payment or insufficient funds. Auto payments cannot be stopped within 48 hours of the scheduled payment, and payments made to the outstanding balance will not affect the auto draft.

Will Auto Pay cover a previous balance?

No. If you have an outstanding balance, Auto Pay will not be used to cover it. For example, if you received a bill last month and signed up for Auto Pay after receiving it, you will still need to pay that bill separately to stay current. Your next bill will begin drafting automatically through Auto Pay.

Will I still receive my bill?

Yes. You will still receive a paper copy of your bill by mail unless you have enrolled in paperless billing in myMTE or the web portal. More information about setting up paperless billing can be found at mte.com/myMTEPaperlessBilling.
