Tree Replacements
Tree Replacement Program
Helping members choose trees that work well near power lines
MTE’s Tree Replacement Program may provide a replacement tree at no charge when a qualifying yard tree is removed to improve the safety and reliability of MTE’s power system.
How the program works
MTE’s Vegetation Management team removes and trims trees across our territory as part of our right-of-way maintenance plan. In some situations, they may provide a replacement tree at no charge when a qualifying yard tree is removed to improve the long-term safety and reliability of the power system.
If a replacement is granted, MTE recommends trees that perform well in our area. When planted properly, these trees should not interfere with power lines.
Members can contact our vegetation management team for more information.
Choosing the right tree
Selecting the right tree helps protect the beauty of your property while supporting safe, reliable electric service. MTE’s recommended replacement trees are chosen because they are proven performers in our area and can be planted in locations that do not interfere with power lines.
