During the visit, an MTE EnergyPro will review key areas of your home that may affect energy use, walk you through their findings, and answer questions about your home’s energy profile. After the checkup, you’ll receive personalized recommendations to help you understand possible next steps to save energy, lower your monthly bill, and improve comfort.

A Home Energy Checkup is a thorough evaluation of your home’s energy use. An MTE EnergyPro will visit your home, assess different parts of your energy use, and provide a customized list of recommendations to help improve efficiency and save money.

What happens at the Home Energy Checkup

Visit mte.com/HomeEnergyCheckup or hit the button below to complete the form to request a Home Energy Checkup.
After your request is submitted, an MTE EnergyPro will contact you to schedule the onsite visit.
Onsite visit
During the onsite visit, an MTE EnergyPro will review your home’s energy profile. Depending on the size of your home, the MTE EnergyPro can assess your home and walk you through the findings in about 90 minutes.
The checkup may include a review of:
- Attic insulation
- Duct work conditions and air flow balancing
- General air leaks and weatherization
- Heating and air conditioning unit
- Energy habits
Receive recommendations
After the evaluation, the MTE EnergyPro will provide a customized list of recommendations. These recommendations are designed to help you reduce energy use and lower your monthly bill. Your recommendations will be available by email and through your myMTE account’s document vault for future reference.
Make recommended updates
After your checkup, review the personalized advice from your MTE EnergyPro. You can then consider upgrades or changes based on the recommendations provided.
