MTE's Fixed Plan allows members to pay a fixed amount each month. The Fixed plan has two components: the Fixed Amount and the Settlement Amount.
For members with existing service, the Fixed Amount is calculated based on an average of your account's previous 12-month usage. For members signing up for new service, the Fixed Amount is set for the first year at $150 for homes with gas service and $200 for all-electric homes. After the first 12 months of service on Fixed, the Fixed Amount is recalculated using an average of your account's 12-month usage.
Although the program allows you to pay an average amount each month, you are still responsible for the total balance of your account. The "Settlement Amount" is the difference between the actual charges and the amount paid through the Fixed program. Your Fixed Amount and current Settlement Amount will be included on every bill. Once a year, the account will "settle up," and either a credit will be issued (if overpaid) or an adjustment added (if underpaid) based on actual usage in the previous 12 months. It will be payable as the 12th bill and subject to fees and collection efforts if not paid by the posted due date. Increased consumption from the previous year will result in a larger Settlement Amount.
You may withdraw from the program at any time. If you withdraw from the program, the account is removed, or the service is terminated, the Settlement Amount and any other amounts due must be paid.
Fixed billing is available for residential members only. Prepaid and non-residential accounts are not eligible. If your account is disconnected for non-pay, MTE may remove it from the Fixed Plan and return it to the Traditional Plan.
MTE reserves the right to terminate or discontinue the Fixed Plan at any time.
