An update from United Communications
Building a more connected Middle Tennessee

Approaching 80 years of serving Middle Tennessee, United Communications continues to build for what’s next. In 2026,
that meant growing the region’s most advanced fiber broadband network and investing in new technology and services.
United, a service of Middle Tennessee Electric, has expanded its fiber network to more than 6,600 total route miles this year, making multi-gig internet connections available to nearly 6,000 additional MTE members. Alongside that growth, the company increased access to 8 Gig Premier internet and Wi-Fi 7 for all residents and launched Outdoor Wi-Fi for homes and businesses. United also secured nearly $250 million in grants and private financing to support further fiber expansion and reach thousands more MTE members.
Building a better-connected future goes beyond technology itself. United employees are known for going above and beyond, from answering 80% of calls within 30 seconds to offering same-day repairs for outage calls made by 3 p.m. That customer commitment is reflected by a 4.8-star online rating and industry-leading Net Promoter Score of 87, surpassing national brands known for outstanding service, including Apple, Chick-fil-A and Costco.
After eight decades, United’s focus remains the same: a network you can rely on, people you can count on and a company that shows up for its community throughout the generations. Learn more at united.net.
